BackI know this theme has been done before. But so has love and breaking up ... Midday Show Friday night and I'd been out late with a girl. I would hesitate, to say that she was a good friend of mine 3 am and I'm creeping in. Dad says "son, where have you been Have you any idea of what you've put your mother through We move to the kitchen and we have it out Mum comes in, says "what's this all about? Oh, it's you" And she too says "where have you been?" We have the fight and we go to bed. I'm thinking about what I could have said. I've replayed the conversation about a thousand times. But I never really cared too much for the midday show. We've got the money so we fork it out. Ain't that what it's all about, no doubt. Spend your money then you try to save a little more. Go to work and the years go by. You raise your kids then you watch them fly. Hope to God that they've picked up something good from you. When my boy finally settled down. They bought a house on the shady side of my town. Sent they're kids off to the local Christian school. Once a year now they're popping in. "Grandpa look at where we've been. Disneyland. Universal Studios. Ain't that nice? I say. "Son I'm happy that you're doing well. I'm living here in this padded cell. Retirement village, call it what you like. Sure, my bed is warm and the food's just fine. It's just so lonely all the time. I never did care too much for the midday show.
