Back1. Big Boss (American) - The legendary soldier who founded the special forces unit FOXHOUND. Big Boss was considered by some to be the "greatest soldier in the 20th century" and a brilliant military leader. 2. Cyborg Ninja (American) - The codename of FOXHOUND agent Frank Jaeger. He survived his injuries during his battle with Snake and was outfitted with a powered exoskeleton and given intense gene therapy. 3. Psycho Mantis (Russian) - One of the renegade members of FOXHOUND who took over Shadow Moses with the Genome Army. He was taught to control his psychic abilities in a boarding school owned by Soviet Intelligence. 4. Sniper Wolf (Kurdish) - She became a famous sniper and was capable of waiting for her targets for days, even weeks, without moving or even eating. 5. Vulcan Raven (Inuit) - He was a Shaman and was raised in the cold state of Alaska. During his FOXHOUND years, he excelled at using a M61A1 20 mm. multi-turreted machine gun 6. Metal Gear REX - A Metal Gear prominently featured in Metal Gear Solid. 7. Liquid Snake (British) - Solid Snake's twin brother and genetic duplicate, along with field commander of FOXHOUND and the Genome Soldiers. Liquid is 180cm tall, has an IQ of 180, and speaks seven languages fluently. 8. Olga Gurlukovich (Russian) - Daughter of Sergei Gurlukovich, and a member of his private army, the Gurlukovich Mercenaries. She took command of her father's unit after his death. 9. Fortune (American) - Helena Dolph Jackson. Her codename refers to her seemingly supernatural ability to have bullets that come into her direction pass around her and also turn explosives into duds. 10. Vamp (Romanian) - An ex-member of Dead Cell with vampire-like attributes, including a taste for blood, the ability to run across or stand on the surface of water or vertical walls, superhuman speed and agility, and the ability to shrug off what would typically be a mortal wound. 11. Metal Gear RAY - A Metal Gear design in use by The Patriots, who stole it from the Marine Corps. 12. Solidus Snake (American) - Third "Son of Big Boss", created as part of the Les Enfants Terribles project. Solidus was created with the same perfect balance of dominant and recessive soldier genes that Big Boss possessed. 13. Revolver Ocelot (Russian) - A former FOXHOUND agent and mercenary. A master of interrogations and a formidable gunfighter who is often referred to as a "ricochet genius". He is the son of the legendary members of the Cobra Unit, The Joy and The Sorrow. 14. The Pain (American) - He had the ability to control large swarms of hornets at will. He was armed with a Tommy gun and grenades 15. The Fear (American) - He was known for his superhuman speed, strength and agility, as well as his freakish, fearsome appearance. He was armed with two crossbows. 16. The End (Russian) - Born in the early 1860s, The End is over 100 years old during the events of the game. A veteran of countless wars, and is considered to be the world's greatest sniper, as he originated all sniping techniques. His name is Vladimir. 17. The Fury (Russian) - The Fury was a former Soviet Cosmonaut. He wore a fireproof Soviet space suit, equipped with a jetpack and wielded a powerful flamethrower. 18. The Sorrow (Russian) - He is gifted with the powers of a medium. He is able to summon the dead and assume their combat abilities by bringing their spirits into himself. 19. Colonel Volgin (Russian) - The son of Boris Volgin, a member of The Philosophers and the man who was in charge of managing and laundering the $100 billion fund that would come to be known as The Philosophers Legacy. In addition to his unprecedented brute strength, his body carried an electrical charge of up to ten million volts, which he used in conjunction with his fighting style. 20. The Boss (American) - Also known as The Joy. She was born as the daughter of one of the higher ranked members of the Philosophers' Wisemen's Committee. She is a legendary soldier, and considered by many to be the mother of America's Special Forces. - Igor Boiar
